Biopharmaceutical :
Biosensors have many potential uses in the biopharmaceutical industry An emerging application is the use of biosensors for high throughput drug discovery when they are combined with suitable microarray technology. In this application biosensors would help minimise the resources required to help identify suitable drug candidates.
Biosensors may also be used in the processing and quality control of biopharmaceutical proteins. In this context they are important analytical tools for controlling the safety, purity, potency, stability and over all quality of the finished batch. Biosensors for use in the pharmaceutical industry have huge potential which has not yet been fully explored. At MiCRA we believe that this is an area that significant breakthroughs can be achieved.
