Technology:
A biosensor is a device which combines a biological component with a physicochemical detector for rapid and selective analysis of target molecules. This biological component is typically an antibody, enzyme or antigen. Binding of an analyte to antibody or the interaction of an enzyme with its substrate results in an electrical signal that is proportional to the concentration in the sample. A biosensor platform is a rapid, cost effective and portable solution to on-site or point of care testing for a wide variety of applications particularly in the area of human and veterinary diagnostics.
