Research:
MiCRA’s research programme is focused on the core elements of sensor design which include biological entrapment and efficient signal generation, both of which are key to development of state of the art technologies with the required sensitivity and selectivity for modern applications.
To develop key components of biosensors, MiCRA has a research program dedicated to the following:
- New Biosensor substrate for stable conjugation and incorporation of biologically active materials.
- Microfluidics for sample preparation and delivery.
- Design and testing of efficient mediators as catalysts with enzyme loaded surfaces.
- Nano and microfabrication for the development of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
- Nanoparticle and nanocomposite synthesis.
- Ink jet and screen printed ink formulation.
